National Junior Honor Society

Saint Matthias Servant Leadership Chapter

The Academy of St. Matthias the Apostle is proud to sponsor the Saint Matthias Servant Leadership Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS).

Membership in NJHS is a distinguished honor that recognizes students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character.

Qualifications:

  • Students in the second semester of sixth grade or in grades seven and eight are eligible for consideration.

  • Students Must Carry a 3.7 GPA

How to Apply:

Eligible students are invited to submit a Student Activity Information Form highlighting leadership experiences and service involvement. Candidates are evaluated by a Faculty Council, appointed by the Principal, using academic records, disciplinary history, and faculty input related to character, leadership, citizenship, and service.

Selection Process:

Selection is determined by a majority vote of the Faculty Council, and students are formally notified of their status. Newly selected members are recognized during a formal induction ceremony.

Once inducted, NJHS members are expected to uphold the standards of the Society by maintaining strong academics, positive conduct, regular attendance at meetings, and active participation in service projects throughout the school year.
