Faith & Religious Education
Faith is at the heart of daily life at St. Matthias. Students participate in regular school Masses and are actively involved in preparing liturgies, helping them develop a meaningful connection to their faith. Through prayer, classroom instruction, and service, students learn to live out Catholic values with compassion, respect, and responsibility.
Literature & Language Arts
We foster a love of reading, writing, and thoughtful discussion. Students engage with age-appropriate texts that build comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills while strengthening written and verbal communication. Emphasis is placed on expression, creativity, and confidence across all grade levels.
S.T.E.A.M.
Our integrated S.T.E.A.M. program blends science and math to encourage exploration, experimentation, and innovation. Students engage in hands-on experiments, engineering challenges, and real-world problem solving that build curiosity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Spanish
Spanish is offered to all students through an engaging and interactive program. Through song, movement, storytelling, and play, students explore the language while learning about the cultures and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries. Opportunities throughout the year allow students to showcase their growing language skills and cultural knowledge.
Music & Performing Arts
Music education at St. Matthias nurtures creativity and self-expression. Students explore rhythm, melody, and performance through age-appropriate instruction that builds confidence and collaboration. School performances and events allow students to share their talents and celebrate music together as a community.
S.A.T. Preparation
Upper-grade students benefit from dedicated SAT preparation instruction designed to build test-taking confidence and academic readiness. With focused support in key subject areas, students develop strategies and skills that prepare them for high school success and beyond.
Athletics
St. Matthias offers athletic opportunities that encourage teamwork, discipline, and school spirit. Through organized sports, students learn perseverance, leadership, and the value of supporting one another both on and off the field.
After-School Activities
After-school programs provide students with opportunities to explore interests beyond the classroom. Clubs and enrichment activities support creativity, curiosity, and social development while giving students a well-rounded and engaging school experience.
