Welcome to the Academy of St. Matthias the Apostle

we believe that choosing a school is a partnership between the family, the school, and the Church. We take pride in getting to know not only our applicants, but their families as well.

We seek families who are committed to a strong school–home partnership, dedicated to nurturing each child’s faith, character, and academic growth in alignment with Catholic teachings.

Our faculty and staff are devoted to providing a supportive, personalized educational experience that allows every student to grow spiritually, academically, and socially while reaching their fullest potential.

We invite you to learn more about how your family can become part of our faith-filled learning community.

Admissions Requirements

  • Pre-K: Child must be four years old by September 1, 2026

  • Kindergarten: Child must be five years old by September 1, 2026

  • First Grade: Child must be six years old by September 1, 2026

  • Grades 2–8: Successful completion of the previous grade level at an accredited school

Assessment

Depending on a student’s previous school and academic records, additional information may be requested to better understand a student’s academic needs. In such cases, a short assessment may be scheduled and administered at the school.

Principal Interview

The final step in the admissions process is a family interview with the Principal. This meeting allows us to learn more about your child and family, discuss expectations, and ensure that the Academy of St. Matthias the Apostle is the right fit for your child’s educational and spiritual growth.

Non-Discrimination Policy

The Academy of St. Matthias the Apostle does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, disability, or national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions practices, tuition assistance, or any other school-administered programs.

As a parish school, preference in admissions is given to registered and participating members of St. Matthias Parish. A parishioner is defined as one who is registered with the parish, participates regularly in Mass, and supports the parish community.

When space is available and within recommended class sizes, admissions consideration is given in the following order:

  • Catholic applicants with siblings currently enrolled

  • Catholic applicants without siblings currently enrolled

  • Non-Catholic applicants with siblings currently enrolled

  • Non-Catholic applicants without siblings currently enrolled

All newly admitted students are accepted on a one-year probationary basis. This period allows both the school and the family to determine whether the Academy of St. Matthias can appropriately meet the student’s needs and whether the student can successfully adjust to the academic and faith-based expectations of our Catholic school environment.

Students whose academic, emotional, psychological, physical, or educational needs exceed the scope of the school’s resources may not be accepted.
